Welcome SAHS Social Studies Teacher to Our Economic Resource Wiki!
This wiki has been designed to help you integrate Economics into the high school (9-12) written curriculum in order to meet the Maine Learning Results (MLR). As of 2007, there were two Economics Maine Learning Results. The first is Economic Knowledge, Concepts, Themes, and Patterns and the second is Individual, Cultural, International, and Global Connections in Economics. The resources that are included in the Table of Contents to the right were generated from the many discussions on how to meet these MLRs. I have organized the resources according to subjects, vocabulary, and concepts. There is also a resource on professional development. As an added bonus the resources also include the National Standards for Social Studies and the National Education Technology Standards (NETS). It is important to include the National Standards as they represent the national requirement of learning the essential concepts of economics. The NETS are also important as students need to be technologically capable in this digital world.

This cartoon made me giggle because it explains our situation. The reason we have to bring the Economic standards into the current curriculum is because budget constraints restrict us from having a separate economic class.
